Nominations Open for President and England Home Country Representative

British Judo Association is inviting nominations for the elected roles of President and England Home Country Representative, with eligible members of the British Judo community encouraged to put themselves forward.

The elections form an important part of the Association’s governance, giving eligible members the opportunity to help shape the future direction and representation of British Judo.

British Judo President

The election for President follows the conclusion of Rowena Birch’s five-year term, with Rowena set to step down from the role following the completion of her tenure.

During her time as President, Rowena has represented British Judo both nationally and internationally, serving as an ambassador for the sport and the Association.

The President holds office for a period of five years and acts as an ambassador for judo, representing the British Judo Association at World and European events when required. The President also chairs the Association’s Annual General Meeting and meetings of the Council.

British Judo would like to hear from eligible members of the judo community who have the drive, knowledge and experience to nominate themselves for election to this important role.

England Home Country Representative

Nominations are also open for the position of England Home Country Representative.

The role provides representation for the interests of the English membership within the governance structure of the British Judo Association, ensuring that the voice of England’s judo community is represented.

Current England Home Country Representative Garth Illingworth will be seeking re-election and has confirmed he will be standing as a candidate in the forthcoming election.

Eligible members who wish to stand for the position are invited to submit their nomination as part of the election process.

How to Apply

Anyone wishing to put their name forward for either position will need to complete the relevant nomination form and submit it by Friday 25th September.
