Grading

British Judo runs an internationally renowned grading scheme encouraging continuous learning, self-improvement, and dedication to the sport.

Grading refers to the process of assessing a judoka’s level of skill, knowledge and proficiency in judo. Gradings are completed in your judo club through a ranking system denoted by colour belts – with each belt representing a different level of expertise.
