IJF Coach Licence Requirement for EJU Events

Following the recent update to the Sport and Organisation Rules (SOR) for the European Judo Union (EJU), please note the revised requirements regarding the IJF Coach Licence (IJF Academy Level 1 Instructor, Undergraduate Certificate Judo Instructor [UCJI], or Master Coach certification) for continental events.

• From 1st January 2028 the IJF Coach licence is obligatory for all European Cadet Cups and all European Junior Cups.
• From 1st January 2029 the IJF Coach licence is obligatory for all senior-level continental events (European Open and Senior Cups).

Please note that the rules for European Championships remain unchanged with the IJF Coach Licence mandatory for European Championships Cadets, Juniors, U23, Seniors – Individual and Mixed Team, and the EJU Champions League. European Championships for Veterans, Ne-Waza and Uniformed Services remain exempt.
