87 British Judoka Set for Gyor Cadet European Cup and Harnes International

International competition continues this weekend, with Panamerican events already underway in Canada, as well as the Gyor Cadet European Cup and Harnes International tournament.

Gyor Cadet European Cup

Just three judoka will represent Great Britain in Hungary this weekend, beginning with Louie Seguin (Tonbridge JC), who will compete in the -50kg category. Seguin heads into the competition on the back of an impressive gold medal-winning performance at the Riga Cadet European Cup three weeks ago, where he claimed his first European Cup medal. He’ll be looking to carry that form into this weekend’s competition in Gyor.

Harvey Pugh (Pontarddulais JC) will contest the -81kg division, competing in just his second European Cup after making his debut in Berlin earlier this year. Having gained valuable experience from that outing, he’ll be looking to build on it and make further progress in Hungary.

Maisie Broadley (Stewart JA) completes the British team in Gyor, taking on the -52kg category. Broadley also arrives following a medal-winning performance in Riga, where she claimed bronze three weeks ago. Having also secured a seventh-place finish at the European Cup in Rome earlier this year, she’ll be hoping to build on those results and challenge for another strong finish this weekend.
