12 British Judoka Set for Three Panamerican Events in Montreal

Twelve British judoka will compete across three Panamerican events in Montreal, Canada, over the coming days, with athletes set to contest the Montreal Cadet Panamerican Cup, Montreal Junior Panamerican Cup and Montreal Panamerican Open.

Montreal Junior Panamerican Cup

The junior competition gets underway on Thursday 5 November, with five British athletes set to take to the tatami.

Ellis Davies (Ealing JC) returns to international competition for the first time this year in the -81kg category, having competed at both the cadet and junior editions of the event in Montreal last year. He is joined by Nicola Bulga (Ealing JC), who also makes her first international appearance of 2026 in the -48kg division.

Myia Agnero (Ealing JC) is set to make her international debut in the -63kg category.

Robyn Davies (Ealing JC) will compete in the -70kg division, making her first Panamerican Cup appearance since claiming gold in Panama in April 2025. Deborah O’Neal (Ealing JC) completes the British line-up in the +78kg category.

Montreal Cadet Panamerican Cup

The cadet competition follows on Friday 6 November, with five British athletes set to compete. Three will also contest the junior event the previous day, making it a busy couple of days for the team.

Yarden Hadad (Ealing JC) will make his international debut in the -50kg division, while Muhammad Talhah Syed (Ealing JC) competes at -55kg, making his Panamerican debut. It will be his second competition abroad this year, following his appearance at the Casablanca Cadet African Cup earlier in the year.

Myia Agnero (Ealing JC) returns to the tatami following Thursday’s junior competition, once again competing in the -63kg category. She will be joined by Robyn Davies (Ealing JC) in the -70kg division and Deborah O’Neal (Ealing JC) in the +78kg category, with both also competing for a second consecutive day.

Montreal Panamerican Open

The final competition of the weekend is the senior Panamerican Open, which takes place from Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 November, with five British athletes in action.

Harry Le Mare (Camberley JC) will compete in the -73kg division, continuing a busy year on the international circuit, with Montreal marking his ninth international event of 2026. Peter Davies (Ealing JC) enters the -81kg category, looking to build on his bronze-medal success at the Casablanca Junior African Cup earlier this year.

Jared Sey (Budokwai) takes on the -90kg division following a seventh-place finish at last week’s Florida Panamerican Open, while Maddy Birri (Ealing JC) competes at -57kg, looking to build on her fifth-place finish at the Sarajevo European Open earlier this year.

Also competing at -57kg is Ammi Takahashi (Ealing JC), who returns to action following a silver-medal performance at the Sarajevo European Open. She also secured fifth place at the Ljubljana European Open to start 2026.

Good luck to everyone competing in Montreal over the coming days!
