National Kata Course – Ju-no-kata and Kime-no-kata – 21 & 22 Nov 26 – Croydon

Ju-no-kata and Kime-No-Kata tutored by Yoshihiko Iura-sensei, Kodokan 8th Dan

A National Kata Course for senior judoka of any grade will take place on Saturday 21 November 2026 and Sunday 22 November 2026 at Croydon Judo Club.

10:00 to 16:00 both days – booking-in 09:30
Examinations from 16:30 onwards

£30.00 per day (Saturday or Sunday), or £50.00 for both days

Those judoka holding an attendance certificate from a previously completed British Judo course in Ju-no-kata or Kime-no-kata will have the opportunity to be continuously assessed for a BJA Level 1 or Level 2 certificate in that particular kata. Higher level certificates will be subject to examination. Only holders of Level 1 may be examined for Level 2, and only holders of Level 2 may be examined for Level 3.  Only Tori will qualify for a certificate. The Kata examinations and assessments will be free of charge, however for successful candidates there will be a charge of £10 to cover the cost of issuing a Kata Certificate

Closing date for online registration: Friday 13th November 2026. No bookings will be taken after this date.

This 2-day kata course will cover all aspects of Ju-no-kata on the Saturday, and all aspects of Kime-no-kata on the Sunday. Participants will be tutored in these kata by Yoshihiko Iura-sensei, Kodokan 8th Dan – an internationally recognised kata expert.

Those judoka not wishing to take any examinations/assessments are still very welcome to attend the course.

Please wear a White Judogi only – strictly no other colour or reversible judogi to be worn
Participants holding a grade of 6th Dan or above are requested to wear a black belt
