Nage-waza ura-no-kata – 18 Oct 26 – Rochdale
October 18, 2026
The aim of this course is to introduce players to Nage-Waza Ura-No-Kata (Forms of Counter Techniques to Throwing). This kata focuses on the principles of countering an opponent’s throwing techniques through correct posture, timing, movement, and the effective use of balance and momentum.
Nage-Waza Ura-No-Kata consists of a structured series of counter-techniques, demonstrating responses to common throwing attacks using hand, hip, foot, and sacrifice techniques. The course provides an excellent opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of counter-throwing principles, tactical awareness, and their application within randori, competition, and self-defense.
