DiSE Applications Now Open for 2026-2027

Applications are now open for British Judo’s Diploma in Sporting Excellence programme for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The DiSE programme is a bespoke judo qualification designed for talented young athletes who want to combine high-level judo development with their academic studies. Funded by Sport England, the programme supports athletes to increase their weekly training volume in a structured environment while continuing their existing club and squad commitments.

Delivered across five Performance Pathway Centres in England, DiSE offers a recognised vocational qualification worth 64 UCAS points, supporting athletes who may wish to progress to university or pursue careers in sport and the wider industry.

Places are limited, with priority given to athletes on the England Talent Programme, including the England Performance Potential Squad, England Development Squad, and the Paralympic Potential Programme.

Applicants must:

  • Be 16 years old
  • Hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/5 minimum
