
Join the British Judo Young People Advisory Group

The British Judo Association is looking for new members to join its Young People Advisory Group, a unique opportunity for young judoka aged 14–19 to help shape the future of the sport.
This group brings together passionate young people who want to make a difference. Members work alongside British Judo staff to share ideas, influence decisions, and ensure that the experiences of junior members are reflected in how the sport develops.
Main Aims
- To provide a forum for junior members’ voices to be heard
- To contribute to the development of the British Judo Association
What You’ll Do
- Share your views and help ensure they are acknowledged and acted on by British Judo staff
- Contribute to an action plan, with progress reported to senior leadership and the Board
- Attend quarterly meetings with the Young Leaders Group
- Stay connected with other members through a WhatsApp group
- Help shape and co-produce initiatives that impact young people in judo
- Take part in valuable volunteering and leadership opportunities
How to Apply
To apply, please send a short profile about yourself and your judo journey. This could include, for example:
- The club you attend
- How long you have been doing judo
- Your current grade
- Your favourite thing about judo
- And anything else you would like to share
The Young People Advisory Group is overseen and supported by Head of Safeguarding, Wellbeing & Inclusion Andrew Bowly, Deputy Safeguarding Officer Marina Dain, and Club Support Officer Maddie Thompson.
