British Judo announces new partnership with Buddle.

British Judo is excited to announce that we’ve been selected as a hub partner for Sport England’s Buddle programme.

Over the next two years British Judo and Buddle will be working together to provide a tailored package of support to meet the needs of judo clubs and the people that work hard to run them.

This partnership will build on Buddle’s existing offer, which provides free resources, templates, videos and workshops. You can find out more on the Buddle website which is full of useful information covering everything from generating income, volunteering, good governance, facilities, safeguarding and inclusion.

Why this matters?

We know that volunteering or working within a Judo club can be hugely rewarding, but it can also bring challenges. Through this partnership we’ll work with you to identify these challenges and priorities and respond to them by developing bespoke content, resources, workshops and other learning opportunities which can be accessed whenever you need it.

Stephanie Mallender, Buddle Lead at Sport England commented:

“Buddle is incredibly excited to be working in partnership with British Judo. Through Buddle’s hub approach we hope to enhance the support and learning opportunities available to Judo clubs up and down the country, helping them to continue providing positive experiences and opportunities for people to be active.”

Nick Shepherd, Head of Club Support at British Judo said:

“We are grateful to be selected for this opportunity to partner with Buddle to enhance the offer of support to our clubs and volunteers. This two year partnership will not only bring bespoke training and workshops, it will also embed the Club Support resources into the judo community for the future.”

Stay tuned for some exciting training and workshop opportunities for our Coaches and Clubs – coming in 2026!
