Online Q&A Sessions on the Revised Dan Grade Syllabus
August 06, 2025

British Judo is offering the chance to get your questions answered about the revised Dan Grade Syllabus, which comes into effect on 1 January 2026.
Hosted by Dave Clark, Chair of the Promotions & Grading Commission, these live online sessions via Microsoft Teams are designed to provide clarity and support ahead of the changes.
The Q&A sessions will take place at 7:00pm-8:00pm on:
- Wednesday 20 August,
- Monday 22 September,
- Friday 24 October 2025.
Anyone preparing for Dan Grade promotion, supporting judoka through grading, or simply wanting to understand the updates is welcome to attend.
These sessions are an opportunity to hear directly from the Promotions & Grading Commission, ask your questions about the syllabus changes, and gain confidence before the new requirements take effect. Topics may include technical updates, kata requirements, time‑in‑grade rules, competition points, and how the changes align with the International Judo Federation (IJF) standards.
Attendance is free, but places must be booked in advance, and registration closes three days before each session. Once registered, you’ll receive joining instructions and can submit any questions you want addressed during the Q&A.
Whether you are a judoka, coach, club administrator, or parent, these online sessions will ensure you are fully prepared for the revised Dan Grade Syllabus and the transition from the current system.
