This year’s Olympics and Paralympics promises to be like no other……for a variety of reasons!
With no spectators allowed in any competition venues, your only way of catching our GB squad in action will be on the television!
With the eight hour time difference between the UK and Tokyo, it means that there will be an early alarm clock required to catch the preliminary rounds of the judo competition.
With most events scheduled for between midnight UK time and about 3:00pm, the judo preliminaries will begin at 3:00am UK Time (11:00am JPN time) each day with the Repechage, Semi Finals and Finals due to begin at 9:00am UK Time (5:00pm JPN time).
The bulk of the broadcasting for the Games in the UK will be by the BBC who have recently announced over 250 hours of action across the Games on BBC One and BBC Two.
Unfortunately they are yet to announce which sports will be shown live on their channels yet, with their interactive services (Red Button and iPlayer) expected to be very busy! If they do release a schedule at any point, we will update this article.
In order to guarantee being able to watch the team, there are numerous paid channels that you can subscribe to throughout the event.
Discovery+/Eurosport will be broadcasting every minute of the Olympic Games on their online streaming service and is probably your easiest way to catch all of the action live across every mat, but you will be required to pay a monthly/annual subscription fee.
