2026 CWG will not include judo

Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Commonwealth Games Federation, the Andrews Labor Government and Commonwealth Games Australia recently unveiled the full sports program for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Unfortunately, the published list of sports for the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games does not include judo.

Judo made a return to the Commonwealth Games programme this summer, being announced as a core sport following the exclusion of judo in the Games programme for the 2018 Commonwealth edition in the Gold Coast. The Games in Birmingham saw huge success for British Judo with 21 of the 56 medals up for grabs being claimed by British judoka.

British Judo is disappointed that Victoria 2026 does not include judo and looks to support the International Judo Federation (IJF) in appealing the decision.
