Tokai University Study Abroad Programme

The world renowned Tokai University in Japan is offering an opportunity for players and coaches to take part in a study abroad programme this summer.

The programme, which goes from 20 July to 8 August, gives students the opportunity to not only get daily practice at the Matsumae Judo Juku but also watch the Tokyo Junior High School Individual Championships and The Rensei National Youth Team Tournament.

They will also have the chance to visit a number of cultural and historical sites around Tokyo including the Nippon Budokan to learn about the history and culture of Japan and also the history of judo.

The purpose of the programme is to:

A. To develop the youth, who will lead international society in the future, through Judo

B. To deepen intercultural understanding between Japanese Judoka and foreign Judoka

C. To observe and practice “Judo, Friendship, Peace” the will of Dr. Matsumae, the founder of Tokai
