Statement: Independent Disciplinary Panel Process
July 09, 2026

British Judo can confirm the outcome of an independent disciplinary panel process concerning allegations made against a World Class Performance Programme athlete.
The hearing was conducted by an independent panel, which considered the full Sport Integrity investigation report together with all 29 allegations that had been raised.
Of the 29, 22 allegations had been substantiated through the independent Sport Integrity investigation, which then required an independent disciplinary process to determine appropriate sanction.
The panel confirmed its support for the sanction already imposed by British Judo in respect of two upheld allegations. Fifteen allegations were not upheld with five upheld only in-part based on the evidence and mitigation before the panel.
Having considered all the available evidence, the independent panel concluded that it would be wrong and disproportionate for the athlete to be sanctioned twice for the same conduct.
In light of the panel’s findings, the athlete’s suspension has been lifted with immediate effect. The World Class Performance Programme will now complete a reintegration process to support all coaches and athletes.
British Judo remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct across the sport and ensuring that all disciplinary matters are handled fairly and appropriately in accordance with established procedures.
British Judo encourages all members to report any matters of misconduct through our online reporting platform, MyConcern, and our Safeguarding team will investigate thoroughly.
