The exciting and dynamic judoka is a fan favourite who started judo after getting into an argument over a Pokemon card. After being thrown by the other boy Ashley decided to give judo a go and hasn’t looked back.

Diagnosed with ADHD Mckenzie credits judo with keeping him on the straight and narrow and he made his Olympic debut in London 2012 where he lost to eventual silver medallist Hiroaki Hiraoka (JPN).

Since then McKenzie has picked up some big results including European Championships bronze in 2013 in Budapest and Grand Slam silver and bronze in Tyumen and Baku respectively.
