Obituary: John Ritchie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Ritchie who died recently.

Eddie Awford has sent us some words about John:

“For me he was a true Judoka and one of my Judo heroes for no matter what suffering he was going through, his sense of humour hand contact always brightened up my day.

His knowledge of Kata Judo was extensive where, as a competitor, he took highest honours and as a Kata Coach his knowledge was appreciated by all.

I will miss him greatly for his help and advice both verbally and written so God bless you John Ritchie, RIP.

John’s funeral will be held at the Harlow Crematorium, Parndon Wood Rd, Harlow, CM19 4SF on 4th May at 1:45pm
