Judo on show at the 2016 Durham Dash

Judo will be one of many sports on show at the annual Durham Dash on Wednesday 15 June.

The Durham Dash is an urban athletics event for boys and girls in Durham city centre. It is being delivered by the Durham & Chester Le Street School Sport Partnership (DCLSSSP) and Durham County Council Health & Wellbeing Board and Culture & Sport. Durham Dash is intended to inspire and enthuse young people in Durham and Chester le Street to be more physically active.

School children from across the county will have the opportunity to throw themselves into judo against the backdrop of UNESCO World Heritage site, Durham Cathedral.

“We are delighted to have Destination@BritishJudo involved in this year’s Durham Dash. Coach Glynn Gideon will be based on Palace Green offering the opportunity for Dash participants to learn a bit more about the sport of judo and give it a try”, said DCLSSSP Manager Emma Nichol.
