
Join the British Judo Board as a Non-Executive Director

We are seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to join our Board and help shape the future of judo across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed British Judo club member to contribute at Board level during a pivotal period for the organisation, as we focus on international success, membership growth, and delivering an inclusive, sustainable sport that has a positive impact in communities across the UK.
The Role
As a Non-Executive Director, you will:
Help oversee the health, well-being and strategic direction of British Judo
Provide independent judgement and constructive challenge at Board level
Contribute your skills, experience and insight to support effective governance
Act as an ambassador for British Judo, representing the organisation with members and external stakeholders
Prior Board-level experience is not required. We are looking for individuals who bring strategic thinking, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to British Judo’s values.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates with experience at a senior strategic level and a successful track record in their career.
You should be able to demonstrate:
Integrity, objectivity and strong interpersonal skills
The ability to contribute effectively in a collaborative Board environment
A passion for British Judo and its strategic objectives
Sufficient time to commit to the role, including travel and occasional out-of-hours meetings
Eligibility
This role is open only to current British Judo club members.
