Jan Gosieweski bags bronze in Monaco
December 16, 2013
Jan Gosiewski produced another strong performance to take bronze at the International Tournament of Monaco on 9 December, a few days before becoming British Champion of the -73kg class on 15 December.
Gosiewski won his opening three contests, before losing his semi-final to France’s Julien Elfaiz.
But he came back to beat Sammy Tamellin, also from France, in the battle for bronze.
Gosiewski is studying for a Biomechanics PhD at the University of Bath, where he receives a Trendell Scholarship.
Fellow Team Bath judo player Gregg Varey, a University of Bath Sports Performance graduate, finished ninth in the under-66kg class and later went on to secure silver in his category at the British Championships.
