Irish Referee Seminar A Success

The recent joint NIJF/IJA National Referee Seminar held in Northern Ireland on the weekend of 29/30th July conducted by Keith Merrick and Bill Taggart.
This was an opportunity to bring referees from the Northern Ireland Judo Federation (NIJF) and Ireland Judo Association (IJA) together for clarification of the new rules and recent rule amendments implemented.
Our aim is, not only to have our high level referees attend, but to invite those who are less experienced and to help them understand the most recent rules interpretation.
The British Judo Association see this as an ongoing event to enhance the quality of refereeing between our two National Governing Bodies.
We would like to thank Keith for his excellent delivery on the day and believe everyone went away with a clear understanding of how the new rules are administered.
