Huge evening for judo on BT Sport
October 08, 2015
It’s a huge evening for Judo on BT Sport this coming Friday 9th October 2015 from 6pm till 9 pm.
There are four consecutive programmes presenting features and highlights of the World Judo Championships in Astana from 7pm to 9pm. Besides the action there is also a moving feature about a journeyman judoka and his family as he struggles to get enough points to get into next year’s Olympics.
Plus the rise of Japan; a glimpse of the elusive North Koreans; an insight into the secrets of Mongolian successes; the quest by Teddy Riner to win a world title for an astonishing and unprecedented 8th time; and how the British judokas fared in battling competitors from the rest of the world.
All this action and the features are preceded by a re-run of a one-hour documentary featuring Britain’s silver medallist in the 2012 London Olympic Games – Gemma Gibbons. She also competed in the World Championships, and is aiming to gain another medal at the Olympics in Rio next year.
