Hertfordshire Open Randori a huge success
October 08, 2014
Bishops Stortford Judokwai held the first Hertfordshire Open Randori sessions on 5th October at Bishop Stortford Judokwai. The event was a huge success with over 70 participants across two sessions.
The under 12’s took to the mat first, with 35 players and 10 coaches, ably led by Nicole and Joe Nunn. They took them through a variety of warm up exercises and groundwork practices before moving on to standing practices including randori.
This was followed by a mat of over 12’s, with 36 players taking part, with a group that included 12 Dan grades.
Clubs taking part included; Bishop Stortford Judokwai, Iruka, Rush, Marshalswick, Melbourn, Kangei, Harlow, St Albans, Ealing, Hertfordshire University and Tsukomie
The whole event was backed up by the volunteers from Bishop Stortford providing refreshments. Further sessions are planned, with Melbourn Judo Club hosting the next event on the 25th January.
