Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Judo: Day 3 Preview

The final day of judo at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games is here, with the home nations judoka looking to build on the medal success of the opening two days and finish the competition on a high.
Ollie Barratt (Wales) will make his Commonwealth Games debut in the -100kg category. Receiving a bye into the quarter-finals, he will face either Aristos Michael (Cyprus) or Avtar Singh (India) in his opening contest.
Jaden Calder (Scotland) also makes his Commonwealth Games debut in the -100kg category, taking on Matthew Rowley (New Zealand) in the Round of 16.
Max Gregory (England) makes his Commonwealth Games debut in the -100kg category. After receiving a bye into the quarter-finals, he will face either Matthew Rowley (New Zealand) or Jaden Calder (Scotland) in his opening contest.
Joshua Whitehouse (Wales) begins his Commonwealth Games debut in the -100kg division, facing Yash Ghangas (India) in the Round of 16.
Wesley Greenidge (England) and Gregor Miller (Scotland) will face one another in the Round of 16 in an all-home nations clash, with both Commonwealth Games debutants aiming to progress to the quarter-finals.
Adam Hall (Northern Ireland) makes his Commonwealth Games debut as the oldest male member of the home nations teams at 38 years old. He begins his campaign in the Round of 16 against Gerard Takayawa (Fiji).
Nicole Wood (Scotland) makes her Commonwealth Games debut in the -78kg category, where she will face Ishroop Narang (India) in the Round of 16.
Emma Reid (England) arrives in Glasgow as the reigning Commonwealth Games champion in the -78kg category. Since winning gold at Birmingham 2022, she has added further international success to her name and will be aiming to defend her title. Receiving a bye into the quarter-finals, she will face either Ishroop Narang (India) or Nicole Wood (Scotland) in her opening contest.
Shelley Ludford (England) also begins her Commonwealth Games debut in the -78kg category. After receiving a bye into the quarter-finals, she will face Coralie Godbout (Canada) in her opening contest.
Sarah Adlington (Scotland) returns looking to complete a remarkable Commonwealth Games hat-trick in the +78kg category, having won gold at both Glasgow 2014 and Birmingham 2022. Victory in Glasgow would see her become the first judoka to win three Commonwealth Games gold medals. She begins her campaign against Loanne Marie Durhone (Mauritius) in the Round of 16.
