GB Squad Confirmed for the U23 European Championships in Chisinau

British Judo are pleased to confirm the squad set to compete at the U23 European Championships in Chisinau, Moldova, from the 31st of October to the 1st of November.

Rory Tyrrell (Camberley JC) has enjoyed a career-best year on the international circuit and has been selected as part of the squad, competing at -81kg. He most recently secured a 5th-place finish at the Prague European Open, producing a strong performance and narrowly missing out on the podium. He also picked up two 7th-place finishes at the Riga Senior European Cup and La Nucia European Open.

His best result of the year came at the Taipei Asian Open, where a Camberley contingent performed superbly, and Tyrrell claimed a silver medal.

Holly Devall (Dragons Academy) will complete the squad heading to Moldova, where she will compete at -70kg, looking to build on her two bronze medals and fifth-place finish in 2025.

The Dragons Academy judoka has taken bronze at both the Malaga Senior European Cup and the Tunis African Open, as well as a 5th-place finish at the Riga Senior European Cup, an impressive set of results from just five competitions this year. She has shown strong form throughout the season and will look to continue her strong performances in Chisinau.

The following fighters were also selected; however, they have opted not to compete at this event, either due to injury or to manage competition schedules: Charlie Ayre, Ben Levy, Irakli Goginashvili, Summer Shaw, Lola Hodson, Chloe Link, and Nicole Wood.

Congratulations to all of those selected!
