L3 – British Minors Championships

The Welsh Judo Association are excited to announce the hosting of the British Minors Championships, providing an opportunity for the youngest judoka from across the United Kingdom to experience a fun, developmental national event.

The British Minors Championships are designed to focus on positive experiences, contest opportunity, and skill progression, ensuring that every participant has a chance to perform and enjoy their day.

During this year’s event, we intend to provide the best possible experience for all athletes and have included additional training sessions around the competition. This event will serve as an opportunity to gather learning and insight to share with the Progressive Events Commission, supporting the ongoing development of innovative and athlete-centred competition formats across British Judo.

Venue: Sport Wales National Centre, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, Wales, CF11 9SW

Age Bands: Players born in the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Grade: Minimum Grade 4th Mon (Yellow Belt)

Weight Categories:

Boys: -27kg, -30kg, -34kg, -38kg, -42kg, -46kg, -50kg, +50kg
Girls: -28kg, -32kg, -36kg, -40kg, -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, +52kg

Weigh-In:

Minors Boys: 08:30 to 09:00

Minor Girls: Estimated 11:00 to 11:30 ( Confirmed weigh-in times will be announced after entry closes)
