

Kodokan Ju-No-Kata – 18 Oct 25 – Melbourn Judo Club

This IJF kata is required for 3rd Dan in the new Dan Grade syllabus. Three sets with a total of 15 techniques, each emphasizing breaking of balance, (kuzushi), and/or body movement (tai sabaki), control through efficiency, and the redirection of force.
Embedded variety of techniques (without throwing) in this Kata include Makikomi, Seoi nage, Uke goshi, Hadaka jime, Hara ga-tame, Ura nage and more. Created by Jigoro Kano around 1887, highlights the relationship between attack and defence in Judo.
Opportunity at the end of the course for examination, a fee of £10 will be charged for BJA certificate. Course restricted to 10 places, due to limited tatami space.
White Judo gi only.
