BJA Safeguarding Children & Adults Course

Sunday 19th July 2026 – Leigh Judo Academy, Lowton Community Hub, Newton Rd, Lowton WA3 2BH

8.30 book in; 9:00 start and 12:00 Finish

We look forward to you joining us on the three-hour BJA Safeguarding Children & Adults Course.

This will be a classroom course at Leigh Judo Academy.

Course aim & learning outcomes:

Aim: To promote best for Safeguarding with Children & Young People and Adults within the BJA

Learning Outcomes:

  • To understand the policies, procedures and legislation which underpin our role
  • To increase skills and confidence when engaging with safeguarding issues and in recognising the indicators of abuse
  • To promote best practice when contributing to ‘recognising, responding, referring & recording’ safeguarding concerns
  • Understanding the impact of abuse and trauma on children
  • To gain up to date knowledge on current issues of risk that impact on Children & Young People
  • To raise awareness and familiarisation of BJA and local procedures relating to referrals & reporting

This course we will accept for Safeguarding certification for Coaches or Club Welfare Officers for initial and revalidation purposes
