European Cadet Championship selections

A dynamic dream team has been selected for the Cadet European Championships that will take place in the Olympic flame’s spiritual home of Athens, Greece, from 4 to 6 July 2014.
Many Olympic podium potentials for Tokyo 2020 will be in action as the likes of European Cadet bronze medallist Neil MacDonald of Alba (Scotland) (-60kg) joins fellow European bronze medallist Lulu Piovesana (-57kg) of Bishop Challoner.
Lulu said: “I am over the moon about being selected,its an honour to represent GB.
“I am training very hard and hope I can bring a medal home.”
Former British Champion Eric Ham of Glossop (-66kg) was excited to be selected for the second time.
“I am very pleased with my selection for the Europeans this year,” he said.
“I went last year but only won one fight. I’ve trained really hard at the Centre the last six months and I am hoping to improve this year and come away with a medal. It’s a great honour to be selected to represent your country.”
Current British Cadet Champions such as Lanina Solley of Tonbridge and Olivia Piochota of Greenwich (Harris JSC) and Connor Potts of Goole will also be in action.
Potts who make his European Championship debut said: “I am feeling very happy, a big congratulations to all the GB selected players.”
Also in action are Chelsie Giles of Coventry, (-52kg), Jessica Carl of Osaka, Lele Nairne of Bradley Stoke (-57kg), Acelya Toprak of Metro (-63kg), Molly Harvey of Tonbridge (-40kg) and Lauren Hawkins both of Westcroft (-70kg) and Jamal Petgrave (-81kg).
Other Scots include Aimee Grant of Highland Budokan (-48kg), Stuart McWatt of Garioch (-73kg), Sebastian Potter of Whitburn Scotland (-81kg) and Scott Thomson of Danderhall and Destination (-55kg).
