Casting call for BJA Humble Warriors Campaign

Calling all passionate Judoka!

Do you have an interesting story to tell about how judo benefits your life? We are hosting a nationwide audition and looking for talent to feature in the British Judo Association’s newest campaign film aimed at helping even more people fall in love with judo.

The campaign film will feature on the BJA’s website and social media channels.

CASTING REQUIREMENTS

• Age: 10 – 55 years old (all minors must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian)
• Gender: Any
• Location: UK (England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales)
• Experience level: All belts welcome
• Right to work
• No prior acting experience required

FILMING DETAILS

We are looking for authentic stories of how judo has enriched people’s lives. If chosen, we will be capturing a ‘day in your life’ where we will be filming in your home and your local club. In order to take part in this campaign, you would need to give consent for filming to take place in your home and potentially include any (willing) family members or friends if they form part of the story that you want to tell.

TIMINGS

• Filming to take place October 2023
• Campaign film to air November 2023

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Please send a video submission of yourself, filmed in portrait orientation. The video should include an introduction to yourself, outlining the following the information:

• Your name
• Where you live
• Which club(s) you belong to – name and location of club
• Your age at the time of casting
• What grade belt you are

The remainder of the video should then include answers the following questions:

• Why did you start judo?
• How has judo enriched your life?
• What does judo mean to you?

All video submissions should be kept under 2 minutes
