Bronze for Amy Livesey and Jemima Duxberry in Hungary

British Judo’s highly-talented juniors claimed two bronze medals at the latest Junior European Cup in Hungary on Sunday.

In the -63kg category Jemima Duxberry, 17, clinched her third Junior European Cup medal of the year.

After losing her opening contest to Margriet Bergstra (NED) the Devizes youngster was pulled back in via the repechage as her conqueror progressed to the final.

Duxberry defeated Susanne Lechner (AUT), Vivien Kiss (HUN) and Simona Abate (ITA) before besting Do Velema (NED) for an impressive bronze medal.

In the -70kg category Amy Livesey, 18, was in good form as she battled through to the semi-final with wins over Heldrun Genzecker (AUT) and Ivana Jandric (SRB) after receiving a first round bye.

The SKK judoka lost out to eventual gold medallist Lorena Podelenczki (ROU) and reverted to the repechage. In the bronze medal contest Amy defeated Andjela Dzakovic (MNE).

Natasha Maslen, 19, finished in seventh-place in the -70kg category. 

British judoka will now remain in the region of Paks to undertake an EJU training camp.
