British Judo is delighted to announce two exciting new additions to its Performance team following a recent recruitment process.
We are thrilled to welcome Chloe Cowen-Vickers to the role as GB Home Nation Coach as she makes the transition over from England Judo where she held the role of Talent Development Coach. A highly respected figure both domestically and internationally, Chloe previously served as the England Talent Coach. Her deep understanding of the British Judo landscape, combined with a strong connection to clubs and athletes across the UK, puts her in a unique position to enhance collaboration between GB Judo, the Home Nations, and the grassroots community. Her appointment is expected to play a vital role in uniting the sport from club level through to elite competition.

With an impressive background across some of the UK’s leading sporting organisations, Jenny Close Akinsanya will bring over a decade of high-level experience to her new role as Performance Manager. Having worked with British Rowing, UK Athletics, and UK Sport, Jenny’s expertise spans operations, programme management, performance pathways, and culture development. Her track record of driving success and fostering excellence will be a tremendous asset as British Judo continues to strengthen its high-performance environment.
These appointments mark an important step in British Judo’s commitment to building a world-class performance system that supports athletes at every stage of their journey. We warmly welcome Jenny and Chloe to the team and look forward to the impact they will undoubtedly make.
