British Judo enjoys Training Camp in Belo Horizonte Brazil
October 28, 2014
British Judo athletes attended a training camp in Brazil between 8 and 20 October to prepare for their next round of competitions and to test out the facilities as a potential holding base ahead of Rio 2016.
The camp was a huge success. Through a cultural exchange partnership between the British Olympic Association (BOA) and the Minas Tennis Club, the Great Britain Team met with local children between the ages of seven and nine to share their judo expertise. The GB team shared their knowledge with the students as they participated in a technical demonstration.
Performance Director Nigel Donohue said: βThe camp exceeded our expectations. The quality and standard of judo was fantastic for our team and is just what we need to develop and prepare our players.β
