BAKU 2015 – DAY 3: Meet our team

The third and last day of the individual tournament of the 2015 European Games will take place tomorrow at the Heyday Aliyev Arena. Five remaining British competitors will aim to book a spot on the podium.

Frazer CHAMBERLAIN is amongst the 34 competitors in the -90kg category. The Camberley based fighter has shown real progress since the beginning of the year and won three Continental Open medals in a row booking him a spot at the 2015 Baku European Games. The first challenge for him will be Domenik WENZINGER (SUI).

Another duet will bring excitement on day three as both, Olympic silver medalist (2012), Gemma GIBBONS and Masters silver medalist (2015), Natalie POWELL will be on stage at the -78kg category. Gibbons will start off against Madeleine MALONGA (FRA), whilst Powell will be on standby for the second round as she will be waiting for the winner of Klara APOTEKAR (SLO) vs Anastasiya DMITRIEVA (RUS).

The draw in the -100kg category brought Ben FLETCHER to face Isaac BEZZINA (MLT) in the first. The winner of the contest will be challenged by double Olympic medalist, Henk GROL (NED).

2014 Tashkent Grand Prix bronze medalist, Sarah ADLINGTON will be competing in the +78kg category where her first contest will be crucial as a win against Svetlana IAROMKA (UKR) can put the Scottish based fighter straight into the quarter-finals.
