Acelya Toprak Reunites With GB Judo

British Judo can confirm that Acelya Toprak has switched allegiances back to Great Britain and will represent GB Judo with immediate effect.
2022 Commonwealth Games Silver medallist Toprak has spent the past eighteen months representing Azerbaijan in a bid to qualify for last year’s Paris Olympic Games following a seven-year spell competing under the GB banner.
Her return to the GB setup sees her named in the squad for the upcoming World Championships, scheduled for 13–20 June 2025 in Budapest, Hungary and will compete in the -57kg competition.
