British Judoka Secure Gold and Bronze Medals at Florida Panamerican Cups

Great Britain enjoyed a successful weekend at both the Florida Cadet Panamerican Cup and Florida Junior Panamerican Cup, with British judoka securing a medal at each competition.

Sienna Robottom (Kin Ryu JC) claimed gold in the -57kg category of the cadet competition, achieving her best-ever result at an international tournament on her Panamerican Cup debut.

After receiving a bye in the quarter-final, Robottom secured her place in the final with a yuko victory in the semi-final.

She then faced an American opponent in the final, where a single waza-ari was enough to secure the gold medal and her first international title.

Lucy Robinson (Kin Ryu JC) secured Great Britain’s only medal at the Florida Junior Panamerican Cup, taking bronze in the -52kg category to claim her second international medal of the year.

After an early defeat in the quarter-final, Robinson moved into the repechage, where she received a bye to progress to the final block.

She made the most of her second chance, producing a dominant ippon victory to secure her place on the podium and take bronze.

Congratulations to both Sienna and Lucy on their medal-winning performances!
