This is a classroom based course at Leigh Judo Academy,
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a Club Welfare Officer within a BJA-affiliated club.
- Recognise how safeguarding fits into the wider BJA safeguarding culture and local contextual safeguarding.
- Identify appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns, including use of BJA MyVoice and escalation pathways.
- Support coaches, committee members, and volunteers to safeguard themselves and others.
- Apply BJA safeguarding policies and procedures to real-life club scenarios involving both children and adults.
- Build trust and relationships within their club to promote a child-centred and person-focused safeguarding culture.
