Dan Grading for Men & Women – Samurai Judo Club, Kidderminster – 23 Nov 25
November 23, 2025

Categories:
This is a dan grading for men and women currently graded 1st kyu to 4th dan.
This follows our previous extremely successful gradings, we average over 60 players at each
grading and usually have sufficient high grades that men can be graded to 5th dan on the day and
women have line-ups and points for up to 4th dan. We therefore confidently expect a high turnout of
all grades for this grading.
Masters will be paired together where reasonably possible.
Weigh-in Times Changed
Because of the large entry (even by our usual numbers), the weigh-in times have changed and are now:
Male 1st kyu: 9.30 – 9.50 am
All women: 12.30 – 1.00 pm
Male Dan grades: 2.00 – 2.30 pm
Eligibility:
All candidates must hold current BJA membership and be a minimum of 15 years of age. Candidates
must be BJA 1st kyu or above. Players holding AJA or BJC grades and wishing to convert to BJA
grades are also welcome, please contact us by email to discuss, well in advance of the event.
For dan grades, please note that it is the COMPETITIVE dan grade which is the relevant grade. For
example, a competitive 2nd dan who holds a technical 3rd dan is regarded for the purposes of this
grading as a 2nd dan.
Late Entries
We are still accepting entries. However, there is currently a technical problem with the Online Entries system. Therefore, players can enter in advance by emailing their details to:
club@samuraijudo.uk
They can then pay on the day at the pre-entry rate of £20.
Players can also enter on the day without notifying us in advance, at a cost of £25.
Please ensure that ALL required information is on your entry.
Confirmation of purchase is also confirmation of entry.
