39 British Juniors and Cadets Set to Compete at the Móstoles and Poreč European Cups

European Cup action returns this weekend as British judoka travel to Spain and Croatia, with 13 juniors set to compete at the Móstoles Junior European Cup and 26 cadets preparing to take part in the Poreč Cadet European Cup.

Móstoles Junior European Cup

In the -73kg category, a strong duo of Eden Heffernan (Pro Judo) and Jack MacLeod (Garioch Judo) will fly the flag for Great Britain. Peter Davies (Ealing JC) and Evan Lees (Edinburgh Judo) will contest the -81kg division.

At -90kg, Gheorghe Tataru (Palavani) and Arad Ghafoorirad (Pro Judo) will represent GB, while Archie MacGowan (Edinburgh Judo) and Ethan Wyper (Edinburgh Judo) line up in the -100kg category.

In the women’s events, the -52kg category features Lola Hodson (Dragons Academy), Kate Chisholm (Judo Sensei London), Harriet Jones (Pro Judo) and Maddy Kissenisky (East Yorkshire JA).

Nicole Wood (Bishops Stortford JK) completes the British line-up in Spain, competing at -78kg.

Poreč Cadet European Cup

Louie Seguin (Tonbridge JC) will be Britain’s only representative at -50kg, while a strong group of Samuel Knights (Mike’s JC), Harry Egleton (Bishops Stortford JK), Reece Blackshaw (Penistone JC), Lewis Rhodes (Wirral JC), Ishmael Brown (Hardy Spicer 83) and James Leroux (DOUBLE CHECK?) will contest the -55kg category.

Jacob Foster (Sportif) and Chayse Franklin (Micklefield JC) compete at -60kg, with Zachary Robbins (Leicester JA) and Freddie Allen (Bradley Stoke JC) lining up at -66kg.

The ever-competitive -73kg division sees Stanley Sherlock (Core Judo), Luka Abashidze (Bishops Stortford JK), Alexey Pavluhin (Palavani), Sean McAleese (Sportif) and Finley Waugh (Wirral JC) take to the tatami. Lucas Iosebashvili (Palavani) is Britain’s sole judoka at -81kg.

In the women’s categories, Katrina Davis (Sakura JC) will compete at -44kg. Maisie Broadley (Wirral JC) and Alexis Buchanan (Sportif) will fight at -48kg, while Evie Mitchell (The Parks JC), Maisie Shattock (Bacup JC) and Elizabeth Merredew (Bishops Stortford JK) represent GB at -57kg.

Rounding out the team in Croatia, Aleksandra Dudko (Ealing JC) and Valentina Lawlor (Sportif) will contest the -63kg division.

With strong representation across both events, it promises to be a busy and exciting weekend of European Cup action for the British squad.
