24-Strong British Team Heads to 2025 Berlin Junior European Cup
June 20, 2025

This weekend, 24 British junior judokas will compete at the Berlin Junior European Cup, taking place from June 21st to 22nd.
In the –60kg category, Charlie Ayre (Tees Valley JC) will be Great Britain’s sole entrant, coming off a seventh-place finish at Kaunas in April. Joshua Chrisp (Blyth Juno Michi) will also compete solo in the –66kg division.
As expected, the 73kg category will be a busy one for GB, with Irakli Goginashvili (Palavani), Ben Levy (Budokwai), Owen Lambert (Bishops Stortford), and Eden Heffernan (Pro Judo) all set to compete. Levy and Goginashvili both head to Berlin off the back of multiple podium finishes in 2025. It’ll be a competitive field, with all five British judokas in strong contention.
The -81kg field will include Eryk Neumann (Hardy Spicer 83), who recently took bronze at the Kaunas Junior European Cup, alongside Jamie Death (Bredakwai JA), Antony Moylett (Grimsby JC), and Isaac Hope (Bredakwai JA).
At -90kg, Cameron Hickey (Camberley JC) and Joseph Kirk (Middlesbrough) will take to the tatami, while Kevin Gordon (Hibari Kan Judo Club) and Jaden Calder (JC Esprit) will compete in the –100kg category.
On the women’s side, the –48kg division will see Eva Ewing (Whitburn JC) in action.
In the –52kg category, Lola Hodson (Dragons Academy) and Maddy Kissenisky (East Yorkshire JA) will represent British Judo.
A familiar trio of Chloe Link (Relentless Judo), Madeleine Birri (Ealing JC), and Charlotte Jenman (Tonbridge JC) will all compete in the -57kg division.
The –63kg category will feature Sophie Wood (Sportif) and Sunny Doig (Just Judo Yoshin), while Nicole Wood (Bishops Stortford) will round out the squad in the -78kg category.
Good luck to everyone competing this weekend!
