British judoka will be supporting the 2018 TeamParkRun from Saturday 18 August to Sunday 9 September.

This is the third year in which National Lottery and UK Sport have partnered with parkrun uk and hundreds of National Lottery funded athletes are taking part, including a number of British judoka (see table below).

These athletes will be tail walking parkruns over the campaign period.

#teamparkrun is a campaign that can tangibly demonstrate the impact that elite success can have on encouraging the nation to get active.

Last year’s event encouraged a massive 43% year-on-year uplift in participation rates compared to the equivalent weekend in 2016 and this year’s event is hoping to drive and sustain even further levels of activity with targeted community engagement integrated within the campaign to drive engagement within hard to reach communities.

5k parkrun events take place every Saturday and 2k junior parkrun events every Sunday starting between 9am – 10am, offering a free and easy way to take your first steps into becoming more active.

Walk, jog, run or volunteer – everybody is welcome!

It’s simple to join up just log on and register https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/
