Statement: 2015 European Judo Championships Independent Review

Following the results of an independent review into the circumstances surrounding the withdrawal of the right of the British Judo Association (BJA) to stage the 2015 European Judo Championships, the Board of the BJA has taken the decision to temporarily suspend Andrew Scoular from his duties as Chief Executive Officer of the BJA, whilst an investigation into the withdrawal is undertaken.

Such an arrangement in these circumstances is standard procedure and will enable a full and proper investigation to be carried out. It does not anticipate or indicate, in any respect, the outcome of the investigation. The board will seek to carry out the investigation as expeditiously as possible. British Judo Chairman, Ronnie Saez, will be temporarily supporting the senior management during this time.

Please note we are unable to make any further statements on this matter until the outcome of the review is determined and can be communicated.
