The British Judo Safeguarding Team would like your views on plans to introduce DBSs into the role of all referees and officials.
Your opinion is valued and this is your opportunity to give feedback. As part of our ongoing support to the judo community, we would also like to hear of any incidents of bullying you may have experienced when performing your role.
Please note that all disclosures will be anonymous and will be treated in confidence by the Safeguarding Team.
The Questionnaire is spilt into two parts and will take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
The first section explores your views on DBS for Officials & Referees and does your role meet the regulated activity threshold for a DBS.To view what constitutes regulated activity, click here. In order to request an enhanced DBS:
- There must be supervision by a person who is in regulated activity.
- The supervision must be regular and day to day; and
- The supervision must be “reasonable” in all the circumstances to ensure the protection of children.
Section two asks if you have experienced any inappropriate behaviour towards you in their judo role(s).
The Safeguarding Team are looking at supporting referees & officials from inappropriate behaviour at events. What bullying is – Bullying at work – Acas.
The questionnaire is anonymous, however, if you wish to discuss your answers further, please complete the name and email fields at the end of the questionnaire and a member of the Safeguarding Team will be in touch.
If you have any safeguarding concerns at any point, please contact safeguarding@britishjudo.org.uk at any time.
