DESCRIPTION:THIS COURSE IS NOW FULLY BOOKED\nThe 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Coaching Judo is the second step on British Judo’s coaching pathway.\nThis course aims to provide candidates with an introduction to the processes and principles of coaching judo to adults and children. \nIf you are already a qualified coach and are looking to develop your knowledge and skills to deliver better and more sessions at your club\, then this is the course for you. \nOn successful completion of this course candidates will receive a 1st4Sport Level 2 coaching award and will be equipped to deliver sessions independently and work alongside a 1st4Sport Level 3 judo coach during club or other relevant coaching sessions. 1st4Sport Level 2 coaches are also able to set up their own judo club(s).  \nThe course will run on two weekends starting at 10am. \nWeekend 1: 11th and 12th April 2026\nWeekend 2: 9th and 10th May 2026 \nAssessment Day: 19th July 2026 \nVenue: Dartford Judo Club Club Cotton Lane\, Stone\, Dartford DA2 6PD \nWhat do you need before you can sign up?\n\nBe at least 18 years old\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association\nHold a minimum British Judo Association 1st Kyu Grade\nIt is recommended that candidates hold a BJA Level 1 coaching award\nBe able to communicate effectively in English (listening\, speaking\, reading and writing)\n\nCourse details\nCandidates are required to complete the 15 module programme\, a mock assessment and a personal action planning process as part of the training. DESCRIPTION:The 1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Coaching Judo is the second step on British Judo’s coaching pathway.\nThis course aims to provide candidates with an introduction to the processes and principles of coaching judo to adults and children. \nIf you are already a qualified coach and are looking to develop your knowledge and skills to deliver better and more sessions at your club\, then this is the course for you. \nOn successful completion of this course candidates will receive a 1st4Sport Level 2 coaching award and will be equipped to deliver sessions independently and work alongside a 1st4Sport Level 3 judo coach during club or other relevant coaching sessions. 1st4Sport Level 2 coaches are also able to set up their own judo club(s).  \nThe course will run on two weekends starting at 10am. \nWeekend 1: 2nd and 3rd August 2025\nWeekend 2: 13th and 14th September 2025 \nAssessment Day: 12th October 2025 \nVenue: Dartford Judo Club Club Cotton Lane\, Stone\, Dartford DA2 6PD \nWhat do you need before you can sign up?\n\nBe at least 18 years old\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association\nHold a minimum British Judo Association 1st Kyu Grade\nIt is recommended that candidates hold a BJA Level 1 coaching award\nBe able to communicate effectively in English (listening\, speaking\, reading and writing)\n\nCourse details\nCandidates are required to complete the 15 module programme\, a mock assessment and a personal action planning process as part of the training. DESCRIPTION:The BJA Level 1 award is the starting point for your coaching journey in judo.\nIf you are new to coaching judo\, have limited coaching knowledge or want to get more involved in your club\, then this is the course for you. \nThe course focuses on the ‘how to coach skills’ using practical technical examples (where relevant) to apply these skills; basic technical principles of ne-waza and tachi-waza; health and safety; and basic judo rules. \nOn successful completion of this course candidates will receive a British Judo Association Level 1 coaching award and will be equipped to work alongside a BJA Level 2 or BJA Level 3 judo coach during club or other relevant coaching sessions. Once they have turned 18 years of age\, a BJA Level 1 coach may\, upon the discretion of a BJA Level 2 of BJA Level 3 coach\, also work independently under supervision. \nThe course will run across 2 separate days\, you will need to attend both. \nVenue: St Albans Judo Club\, The Dojo\, Batchwood Golf & Sports Centre\, Batchwood Drive\, St Albans\, Hertfordshire AL3 5XA \nDay One: Sunday 12th May 2024 \nDay Two/Assessment day: Sunday 30th June 2024 \nWhat do you need before you can sign up?\n\nBe at least 16 years of age\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association\nHold a minimum British Judo Association 2nd Kyu Grade\nHave a good knowledge of the British Judo Mon and Kyu Grade Syllabi\nBe able to communicate effectively in English (listening\, speaking\, reading and writing)\n\nCourse details\nCandidates are required to complete a Portfolio Tasks within six month of their assessment.
