British Champs Seedings and Cadet Identification 2022

On Thursday the 25th November, the Performance Pathway Commission met to discuss the British Championships Seeding, Cadet ID List and Cadet Identification Policy.

Below is a summary of the decisions made:

British Championships Seedings

The 2021 Welsh Open and C2 competitions will be used to inform the seedings for the Pre-Cadet, Cadet and Junior British Championships 2022. The Home Nation Coaches will also review the seedings prior to being finalised.

Cadet ID List

Will be updated and publicised in early 2022 and relaunched as the Ippon League. Slight changes to be introduced which are likely to include points for individual contest wins at identified Cadet European Cups and to have separate points for individual Waza-ari and Ippon scores.

Cadet Identification Policy

Due to the changes in funding. GB Judo will no longer be able to fund the GB Futures International Training Camp in Japan. Home Nations have agreed this camp is an important experience to enhance the development and progression to senior judo. Therefore, this camp will continue with a Home Nation contribution.

The Cadet Europeans will remain as previous, and the Identification Policy for both will be finalised and published in early 2022.

Kind regards,

GB Performance Team and Home Nation Leads
