Masters descend upon Centre of Excellence

A Masters National training session took place on Sunday 13 July 2014 at the British Judo Centre of Excellence at the University of Wolverhampton, Walsall Campus.

With more than 60 masters players on the mat, the session took place between 10.30am and 3.30pm was led by Mac Abbotts and included guest coaches Fitzroy Davies, Dave Brooks, Dave Elmore and Mike Chamberlain.

Chairman Kerrith Brown was also on hand to coach a session and he really enjoyed mixing with the masters on the mat.

The grade range went from yellow belt up to high dan grades with at least 10 players on the mat that had attained 6th Dan or above. Chris Doherty said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere and this was like a think tank because of the level of experience there. We can’t wait to do this again.”

The next session is on 14 September at the same venue.
