Talented judoka have the opportunity to develop their judo at St Mary’s University in London.

The Judo programme at St Mary’s, supported by London Area Judo, provides judoka with dual development with a university and club programme.

Based in South West London and with the support of a sport scholarship scheme, St Mary’s offers the ideal environment for high performing judoka to prosper.

Students will have access to coaching within the St Mary’s club as well as having free access to monthly London Area training and reduced membership of the Ray Stevens Judo Academy.

Peter Blewett, Chairman of London Area BJA, said:

“The London Area of the BJA is delighted to establish a strong link with St Mary’s University, Twickenham which will provide excellent coaching facilities, strength and conditioning and access to rehabilitation services with the Sport Scholarship structure.”

The Sports Scholarship Scheme provides a number of benefits for St Mary’s athletes including:

  • Up to £3,000
  • Strength and Conditioning Support
  • Workshops and Lifestyle Support
  • Access to rehab services
  • Membership to the fitness and conditioning suite
