This kata focuses on the principles of responding to and countering an opponent’s attempts to apply osaekomi-waza (hold-downs)\, shime-waza (strangulation techniques)\, and kansetsu-waza (joint locks). \nKatame-Waza Ura-No-Kata consists of a structured series of techniques demonstrating effective use of timing\, positioning\, control\, and escape\, followed by the application of decisive counter-techniques.
