SUMMARY:National Rules Seminar - 20 Mar 27
DESCRIPTION:British Judo are pleased to offer a Rules Seminar primarily for referees and coaches\, it is mainly designed confirm the intricacies of the rule set finalised in 2026\, then review the key characteristics of complex rules and reinforce how they are intended to be applied.\nThe British seminar will include high level referees delivering the content utilising IJF direction\, the\nseminar will also outline specific and significant differences between IJF and British Judo event rules\nwhere deemed necessary to do so. \nBritish Judo may disseminate the steer using feedback video from IJF to improve clarity of advice given. \nAs always\, GBR encourage referees and coaches to work together to understand the interpretation principles more thoroughly to establish what is really happening and therefore the limits of what is allowed or not and why\, this helps referees to manage contests more accurately and helps coaches to educate their athletes for compliance with the applicable rule set. It is hoped that athletes can learn to better manage contests within the rule set we have by avoiding penalty situations and scoring more frequently. \nUnderstanding the rule set to just a reasonable level can easily be the difference between an athlete winning a contest or losing\, so very important for coaches and athletes to have a clear and objective understanding. \nUsing the rule set to an athlete’s advantage for their style of competing\, can be the positive difference over an opponent who has less knowledge. \nBritish Judo will also continue their drive for excellence with VI and Adaptive rules tuition at the seminar with the hope to enable those matches to be managed more effectively across the country. \nTHIS IS A REVALIDATION EVENT FOR COACHES\, NATIONAL B AND ABOVE REFEREES \nVenue: Performance Centre\nStart 10.00\, End 17.00\n20th March 2027 \n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n\nIf the form does not appear below it is likely due to your device settings.\nPlease clear your “Cookies” and/or open this page in a private window IE.
