DESCRIPTION:Referee education modules are suitable for those candidates who wish to gain the knowledge and theoretical qualification for their next level referee award. The modules are also suitable for participants who have no intent to become a referee but do wish to improve their knowledge of refereeing. \nClub\, Area\, Nat C module is focussed on process\, signals\, control and other general referee responsibilities\, attendees are expected to know basic principles commensurate with their belt grade before attending as this will be needed. \nThe module will end with a theory examination\, some of which will be elements you should already know before the course and mostly on the skills you have acquired during the module. The practical element will be done separately at an assigned event identified by the tutor / your coach. DESCRIPTION:Becoming a timekeeper/scorer is the starting point of your officiating journey in judo. \nIf you are new to judo and/or want to help out at competitions then this is the officiating role for you. \nThis course will be delivered initially online and a mentor system will be put into place at competitions. This course focuses on understanding the basics of a judo contest and the role of the timekeeper and scorer plays during competition judo. \nOn successful completion of the training programme\, candidates will be able to act as JudoScotland timekeepers and scorers at British Judo/JudoScotland events and competitions full support will be given to candidates at events. \nWhat do you need before you can sign up? \n\nBe at least 10 years of age\nGood communication and ‘people skills’\nTraining details\n\nCandidates undergo ‘on the job’ training at a competition in order to become timekeepers/scorers. DESCRIPTION:SENIOR RECORDER \nSenior Recorder is the third level of officiating offered by British Judo. \nThe training programme for Senior Recorders is a one day course\, culminating in a written examination. \nOn successful completion of the training programme\, candidates will be able to hold licences for multi-mat competitions up to level 3\, non-point scoring. \nWHAT DO YOU NEED BEFORE YOU CAN SIGN UP? \nYou will have: \n• Held a Competition Recorder qualification for a minimum of 3 years and be at least 18 years of age.\n• Have current evidence of recording activity at events.\n• Have good time management\, Communication and people skills.\n• Hold a membership of the British Judo Association. SUMMARY:Kanji Coaching\, Officiating & Referee - 16 Aug 25 - York
DESCRIPTION:This module is designed to help club coaches teach club members the basics of coaching\, officiating and refereeing to a level where the member will be able to assist the coach in a club environment at pre licenced events. The club members will generally be taught in their own club\, it is expected that Kanji referees\, officials and coaches will be able to contribute to club based coaching sessions and in house events once trained. Those coaches\, officials and referees who wish to take the licenced pathways later in their career will be at a significant advantage in the formal education process which will enable them to progress through the licenced pathway for all disciplines more swiftly than they may of done so without the Kanji training. \nOnly level 2 coaches or above can lead the tutoring\, level 1 coaches can attend to act as assistants. \nThis is a British Judo Licenced Coach Education/Revalidation Course \n\nOops! DESCRIPTION:Contest Recorder is the second level of officiating offered by British Judo. \nIf you are already hold a Timekeeper/Scorer qualification\, or you are experienced in judo and want to help out at competitions then this level is the officiating role for you. \nThe training programme for the Contest Recorder is via Teams teaching and event mentoring. It builds on the elements learnt as a Timekeeper/Scorer and focuses on how to run an officiating table at a competition. \nOn successful completion of the training programme candidates will be able to run pools and knockout sections at a competition and run a officiating table. \nWhat do you need before you can sign up? \n\nBe at least 13 years of age\nBe a current member of the British Judo Association. If the candidate is not a current member British Judo will issue an associate membership (valid for table officiating only). This will last for three years and can be renewed free of charge at the end of that time if the person is still active\nHold a Timekeeper/Scorer qualification and have been active at a minimum of 3 events since qualification or an experienced judo participant.\nGood communication and ‘people skills’\n\nTraining details \nCandidates sit an examination paper\, usually following an education course.
